Norway and Denmark urges its citizens to leave Syria, where the embassies of all scandinavian countries (swe & den are in same building) have been burned.
Norway called the actions by the crowds of people in Syria and the fact that the police didn't stop them unacceptable and demanded a explanation from the Syrian ambassador. The dictatorship that is Syria doesn't have crowds of people gattering in the streets without the government having a say.
The Syrian ambassador in Sweden has also been called to the secretary of state for an explanation.

Many muslims representatives (appearing on all TV-networks) have used language that describes all this as a coordinated attack by the european media on islam.
The "coordinated attack" claim have been repeated like an RNC talking point. It's the same "you see, they're out to get us"-rethoric.

Now seriously, that's nothing more then a fucked up claim! Had this claim been made by a christian extremist (see "war on christmas") we would have said he/she was a nutjub so why should we make any exemptions for muslims.

If you're offended by the cartoons, fine, you have every right to be. The danish paper Jyllands-Posten pushed it to far and they knew they did. Most of all they should have taken the early criticism more serious.

But if you truly believe that the european media is out to get islam, and is prepared to use violence to make your point, you sir are nothing more then a religious nutjob and should be treated like one!!

Several Danish politicians and media figures are trying to end the anti-scandinavian scent in the arab world after danish paper Jyllands-Posten published a cartoon of Mohammed.
The cartoon have sparked boycotts of danish products in the arab world.

The protests in Najaf, Palestine and Saudi Arabia also target Norway and in some places Sweden.

Some danish muslims feel that the apology issued by Jyllands-Posten only covered that they insulted muslims not that they published the cartoon.
Defenders of Jyllands-Posten point out that Denmark (and Norway and Sweden), unlike Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Palestine have free speech and a completely free press. Plus that the governments in the scandinavian countries don't intervene with what is printed in it's papers.

This could get ugly...

The cartoon have now also been published in the french paper France-Soir. This will of course get more attention (cause it's France).
